TEDA Tirana Joins the WB6-EU Industrial Parks Partnership

TEDA Tirana has officially joined the WB6-EU Industrial Parks Partnership, a new regional initiative connecting industrial parks and business zones across the Western Balkans with European partners to strengthen business cooperation, investment opportunities and integration into European value chains.

On 30 September 2026, in Budva, Montenegro, Mr. Dritan Delija, CEO of TEDA Tirana, represented TEDA Tirana at the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding, formally establishing TEDA Tirana’s participation in the WB6-EU Industrial Parks Partnership.

The Partnership is one of the regional economic initiatives developed within the framework of the 2026 Berlin Process and contributes to the implementation of the Common Regional Market (CRM) Action Plan 2025–2028.

Facilitated by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), the initiative brings together selected industrial parks and business zones from the Western Balkans Six with partner organisations from the European Union, with the aim of strengthening regional economic cooperation, connectivity and business-to-business collaboration.

The Partnership forms part of the broader programme of activities carried out under the 2026 Berlin Process, with the presence of Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Nik Gjeloshaj, Minister of Economy and Innovation of Albania, Ms. Delina Ibrahimaj, as well as representatives of the European Commission, the RCC, UNDP, CEFTA, and other regional and European organizations.

The initiative aims to strengthen business-to-business connections, supplier development and investment opportunities, while supporting companies from the Western Balkans in becoming more closely connected to European value chains. It also provides a framework for the exchange of experience and good practices between industrial parks in the region and the European Union.

TEDA Tirana is the only Albanian industrial park and technological, economic development zone represented in the WB6-EU Industrial Parks Partnership, giving Albania a direct presence within this regional network of industrial parks and European partner organisations. Through its participation, TEDA Tirana contributes to the regional exchange of experience and creates new opportunities for cooperation between Albanian and European businesses and industrial ecosystems.

For TEDA Tirana, participation in the Partnership creates new opportunities to develop institutional and business connections with European industrial parks, exchange expertise and good practices, identify potential business and investment opportunities, and explore areas for future cooperation.

A further important dimension of the Partnership is the gradual development of Eco-Industrial Park (EIP) approaches. Cooperation in this area will focus on topics including resource efficiency, circular economy, cleaner energy and more sustainable industrial infrastructure. For TEDA Tirana, this provides an opportunity to learn from European experience and explore practices that can support the sustainable development of the zone.

The signing ceremony was organised by the Regional Cooperation Council and the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro, with the support of the European Commission, and took place on the margins of the Economic Conference Montenegro 2026, ahead of the Berlin Process Economic Ministers’ Meeting.

The ceremony brought together representatives of regional and European institutions, including Mr. Amer Kapetanović, Secretary General of the RCC, Mr. Ernad Suljević, Minister of Regional and Investment Development of Montenegro, and Mr. Bernard Brunet, Head of Cooperation at the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro.

The WB6-EU Industrial Parks Partnership brings together seven industrial parks and business zones from the Western Balkans with six European partner organisations, creating a practical platform for continued cooperation and knowledge exchange.

By joining the Partnership, TEDA Tirana strengthens its connection with regional and European industrial networks and opens a new channel for knowledge exchange, business cooperation and the development of shared opportunities. This cooperation comes at an important stage in the development of TEDA Tirana, as the zone prepares to welcome new companies and investments and further develop its role as a platform for technological, economic and industrial development in Albania.
